Magnetosphere Update - Saturday FEBRUARY 24, 2012

http://www.haarp.alaska.edu/cgi-bin/magnetometer/gak-mag.cgi
The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
Geomagnetic storminess is usually indicated in oscillatory variations in the earth's magnetic field. Additional detail concerning the nature and severity of the ionospheric disturbance can be found through analysis of the three components of the field. Data from a chain of magnetometers are also available.
HAARP FLUXGATE MAGNETOMETER

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetosphere
A magnetosphere is formed when a stream of charged particles, such as the solar wind, interacts with and is deflected by the intrinsic magnetic field of a planet or similar body. Earth is surrounded by a magnetosphere, as are the other planets with intrinsic magnetic fields: Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn…
The Kiruna magnetogram provides realtime data of the local Earth magnetic field at ground level. Strong deviations in the data, primarily the black line could signal the development of geomagnetic activity. The curves on this plot show deflections from an average. The average is derived from the monthly means of the five most quiet days. For more data and information, visit the website below.

Reports of a censored earthquake came to me today -- from a few different viewers who saw the USGS knock a Virginia / West Virginia earthquake off the map.
With a little sleuth work , and some LUCK that the other feed wasn't yet censored -- I was able to track down the approximate epicenter of this quake based upon the helicorder signatures at each ANSS backbone station.
Heaviest shaking occurred in Florida, South/North Carolina!
Here is the link to use.. pull the charts before THEY TOO are gone for good !

Coronal Mass Ejection Part II and III
A pair of explosions can be viewed in the latest STEREO Behind COR2 images. The latest events was most likely the result of a prominence / filament eruption. This first blast appears to be headed north and is not Earth directed. The second event may be Earth directed, however more images will be needed to confirm this.

SolarHam.com | Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) - Thursday FEBRUARY 23, 2012

A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is seen in the latest STEREO Ahead COR2 images on Thursday morning, and the source appears to be a filament channel eruption near region 1419 in the northwest quadrant. The blast site is circled below in the STEREO Ahead image. After a close look, the expanding cloud appears to be directed mostly to the west, however more data will be needed to determine if there will be an earthward component.
