Water Grants for Gas Shale Research

The United States Department of Energy funded nine natural gas from shale projects. Most of them are intended to improve the management of hydraulic fracturing water at shale drilling sites or waste water treatment sites.

The fuels being used for the generation of electricity are changing over time. A new chart from the Energy Information Admisitration shows that the use of natural gas is rising slightly and the use of petroleum liquids is decreasing.

No Mass Extinctions from Comets

While an asteroid could be the culprit in the dinosaurs’ case, astronomers from the University of Washington think that comets were probably not responsible for any mass extinction.

The current projected path of Hurricane Bill is to the west of Bermuda. Bill is currently a Category 3 hurricane and Bermuda is under a tropical storm warning.
