Magnetic fields trigger solar wind



Sunspot 1034 and new region (Early Monday)


  • 1034 was the source of a long-duration x-ray event
  • CME today with an approximate x-ray max at 09:27 UT.
  • The actual max was probably higher and later.
  • GOES 14 experienced a data gap during most of the event.
  • B-class events possible with a slight chance of an isolated C-class event.
