Ships sitting idle

From the NY Times: About 700 ships are currently just sitting around doing nothing, moored off Singapore. Apparantly there is not much cargo needing moving these days.

The photo is a hint, but you don't really begin to grasp the situation until you start poking around with google maps.

Check this and this and this and this out. Those are the biggest groups I found, but there are stationary ships scattered around the entire area.

Apparantly there are another 300 outside Rotterdam, The Netherlands and another 150 at the Straits of Gibraltar. Google maps doesn't have high res shots of the sea outside Rotterdam, but I found some of Gibraltar. There are probably more outside the bay.

This is a big change from March, when there were only 435 ships world-wide doing nothing.

Now's the time to think about building a house out of old, unwanted shipping containers. I'm sure there are plenty going for cheap or free.

First, we did a story about an Army Major who filed suit regarding his deployment to Afghanistan on the grounds that Obama was not America’s legitimate Commander-In Chief.

World Net Daily thought highly enough of this article to link to it on their front page.

Then we did an article pointing out the differences between a Birth Cerificate and a Certification Of Live Birth.

Some of the biggest names in conservative news have weighed in on this topic, such as Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and numerous others have offered their opinions.

One of the people at the forefront of this issue is Joseph Farah and his staff over at World Net Daily.

They are even running an online petition demanding Obama produce a long-form birth certificate.

Thanks to the alertness of our great friend and loyal supporter Erica, who gave us the heads-up on this. it appears that the issue of Obama being forced to produce a copy of his birth certificate may prove to be extremely difficult, if not impossible.

On January 21st, 2009, his very first day in office, Barack Obama implemented and signed into law Executive Order 13489.

For those of you who can’t take the time to read it. here is the section that applies:

“Sec.2

Notice Of Intent To Disclose Presidential Records

When the Archivist provides notice to the incumbent and former Presidents of his intent to disclose Presidential records pursuant to section 1270.46 of the NARA regulations, the Archivist, using any guidelines providied by the incumbent and former Presidents, shall identify any specific materials, the disclosure of which he believes may raise a substantial question of executive privilege.”

Now for all of you who commented on our previous articles that we were no more that right-wing nut jobs, that this thing about Obama’s birth certificate was a non-issue, and those of you who tried to shift the focus of the stories, doesn’t this strike you as just a little odd?

That the first order of business Obama took care of on day one of his Presidency was to sign off on an Executive Order that states that only the records he chooses to be made public will be released?

This is the subject that was at the absolute top of his agenda?

If this isn’t proof that Obama is hiding something, I don’t know what is.

Party row heats up as another serviceman dies in Afghanistan 17 Jul 2009 Another British soldier has been killed in Helmand, the Ministry of Defence said today , as the row between Labour and the Conservatives over policy in Afghanistan became increasingly acrimonious. Rifleman Aminiasi Toge, of 2nd Battalion The Rifles, was killed in an explosion while on a foot patrol on Thursday. He was the 16th British soldier to die this month and would have turned 27 on Sunday.

The US doesn't want to follow the rules. Tensions rise over US Iraq role 19 Jul 2009 There appear to be growing tensions between the US military and Iraqi security forces. They have arisen over cooperation and the restrictions imposed on the movement of American forces in urban areas inside Iraq... According to an agreement signed between the two sides, US forces are not allowed to enter Iraq's towns and cities unless specifically requested to do so by the Iraqi authorities, except in cases of self defence. The spokesman said the ministry adhered to a strict interpretation of these new rules, but some in the American military appear to take a different view. The report suggests that US military figures did not expect the new rules to be implemented so literally, and for a limited number of joint patrols to continue following the withdrawal.

There is no shortage of information and the sources of such information that are available at the fingertips with the interconnectedness of the world-wide web. Likewise, last evening I was outside playing around with my new portable antenna for my short-wave radio and was able to listen to global information sources using the medium of my ears versus finger tips and eyes. However, how does all this information actually affect my life as it passes by with ongoing movements of the hands of a clock? What difference does it make what Hillary or Hank are doing this week? But then, I also remember when a loaf a bread once cost a quarter and those times when gasoline cost less than a dollar. I also grew up in a farming community wherein the incidences of cancer due to ground water contamination was very high - in those times when corn seeds could reproduce subsequent crops and were not yet genetically modified requiring seeds to bought each season from Big Global Corporations.

As Hillary is having her breakfast with billionaires in India this week - I wonder what those victims of Global Corporatism in India were doing? With water polluted by industrial wastes and forced to be widows because their husbands committed suicide because of crop failure and debts to buy GMO seeds?

John Moore of TheLibertyMan.com, a homicide detective has been frequently speaking how the Continuance of Government is to be finished by the end of December, 2009 - getting major centers such as those for the CIA, etc moved off the east coast into the mainland in preparation for the coming coastal events they have known about for decades. Information - Personally I trust John Moore as a source of information more than I trust the camera crew set up in the White House or those broadcasting pictures of Hillary visiting the rich in India.

There is Clif High and his Alta Reports - another individual concerned about the average human, as is John Moore. Guys I would want watching my back - and that's not in the manner of the picture of Obama checking out the backside of the adolescent girl at the G8 in Italy. Currently there are $Billions of dollars being spent by Big Brother for Homeland Security that perceives the populous of the nation as potential terrorists while today there is news that Russia can launch missiles from submarines in the Arctic undetected by the US ... think Homeland Security isn't really making the homeland that secure!

As a grandmother, I have watched my two grandchildren be buried ... so currently have no little ones to worry about all the vaccines being inflicted upon the young - making Big Pharma richer... only a wee bit of internet research reveals the harm down by such vaccines!

I have for so long said that FEAR is the result of having a brain in the skull connected into the central nervous system ... fight/flight in response to the perceived threats in the environment and I could get killed walking outside to check the mail by a run-away riding lawn mower! Not one of those auspicious ways to die, I hate to say. Learned helplessness has been the long-time social conditioning by the PowersThatBe - reminding me of an accounting teacher long ago saying that checking accounts were a rip off and were not in your best interest. Handing someone twenty dollars in cash being a different experience that swiping your card at the checkout in a digital experience. Probably won't be long before we use the $20 to pay for a loaf of bread in this country when the rest of the world quits taking our worthless currency.

One thing for sure is I'm glad I don't have spoiled kids when our economy totally crumbles around us ... the whine coming out of the US will probably be heard on the space station. The word teenage entered the English vocabulary in 1941, and I once asked my Dad, God rest his soul, what they called teenagers before that became a word and he responded with, "just damn kids"... still chuckle with that memory. Etymology, the study of the history of individual English words frequently provides an interesting way to understand history - a long-time hobby of mine.

Troops have been forced to leave live Taliban bombs outside their bases for weeks because there were no Army explosive experts to clear them.

Secret documents seen by the Sunday Mirror say that the deadly devices were left in the ground so long that rebel fighters were able to dig them up and place them elsewhere to kill other soldiers.

Frontline troops do not have the expertise to diffuse improvised explosive devices and have to rely on specialist bomb experts.

But shortages in the experts - ammunition technical officers - meant bombs simply had to be marked and left in the ground.

Senior officers warned military chiefs that the shortages of ATOs was putting lives at risk last July.

But it took defence chiefs seven months to send an extra 300 bomb experts to Helmand amid wrangles from the Treasury.

Meanwhile one Royal Marine unit suffered nine dead and 52 wounded in six months in 300 separate IED attacks.

Last night a senior military source said: "You need an expert to defuse these devices. They are highly sophisticated and often boobytrapped. For them to be left in the ground, then dug up by the Taliban and re-laid to kill more troops is a scandal."

Last night defence sources said more ATOs had now been sent to southern Afghanistan.

Thousands of TEA Party Patriots Rallied at the political offices of US Federal Senators and Representatives Simultaneously this Friday, July 17, 2009. They rallied in support of Health Care Freedom of Choice. They oppose Obama's various iterations of Nationalized / Socialized Medicine.

While all of major media mostly ignored the protests, the internet buzzed and crackled as TEA Party folks from across country used the internet to exchange real time text messages, twit-pics, cell pics, and even blog radio broadcasts. The Two Major Political Parties appear to have allied with each other to "black out" coverage of the TEA Party Movement on all major media outlets. Major Media did not cover the event, even though it is believed that this is the first primarily internet coordinated, simultaneous, nationwide political protest in American, if not world history. Even Fox News seems to have fallen silent about the cause. Apparently American News Reporters are a bunch of Political Cuckolds who prefer to nurse at the bitter teat of Tyranny. And some people wonder why major media is going bankrupt.

It appears that the strategy of the 2 major political parties is to silence coverage of the events in the hopes that the movement will stall and fade away. While introducing Senate bills No. 773 and 778, Democratic Senator Jay Rockefeller, declared that "the Government would all be better off if the internet was never invented. If the internet was never invented, the corporate media & the Council on Foreign Relations would dominate news and information and alternative media restricted to print would have a far more difficult time counter balancing government propaganda. This Reporter personally attended the Rally in front of the buidling that Houses one of Senator Amy Klobuchar's Home State Offices. This office is located on Washington Avenue in Minneapolis. Approximately 100 TEA Party Patriots Peacefully and Respectfully Protested Democrat efforts to pass Socialized Health Care. For an hour, from 11am to Noon Persons involved with the protest waved signs, spoke to passing pedestrians and motioned to get the attention of passing motorists. Many Motorist honked and waved in support, some stopping to shout support from their vehicle windows... A passing ambulance lit up its cherries and siren in support of the Protest. Those assembled shared Socialized Health Care horror stories, plotted future strategy and exchanged email addresses and phone numbers with each other and the coordinators. Blank pages of paper were circulated with which each person in attendance was asked to provide their name and phone number and a brief message to the Senator. Near the end of the Protest, this document was delivered to the offices of Senator Klobuchar. (Speculation circulated that Senator Klobuchar would immediately forward the list to the FBI and Homeland Security)

Because the major media did not cover the events, and because I have rushed this article to press, I must give an estimate that Hundreds, if not thousands,of protests like this occurred across the USA simultaneously.

In this,and in all of the TEA Party events to date, this reporter is unaware of any acts of violence. Nor is the reporter aware of any mobilization of any police nor military forces in anticipation of violence caused by the TEA Party Movement Patriots.

Yet, for political reasons, Obama has his Homeland Security Department leave the TEA Party movement on the potential terrorist list lumped in with skin heads, the Ron Paul Coalition, white Supremecists and returning war veterans.

Paraphrasing Anthoney Gregory of the Campaign for Liberty, referring to the actions of the FBI towards Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., Vietnam Protesters and other voices of dissent, "According to internal documents of the FBI's COINTELPRO its purpose was to misdirect, discredit, demonize and otherwise neutralize the activities and leaders of activist groups" [Ohio -CSNY] For those less seasoned Citizens [4 dead in Ohio] and this on MLK, Jr. [FBI COINTELPRO and Martin Luther King, Jr.]

America, does it occur to you that the treatment of the TEA Party Movement parallels the treatment of the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War Protests. I believe history has vindicated the Civil Rights and Vietnam Protesters, despite the Governments efforts to Demonize and Discredit them.

In light of this history and analysis that I have provided you, I ask you to contemplate the signifigance of the Government's heavy handed tactics of labeling the TEA Party Movement as terrorists and its suppression of the news of TEA Party Movement Activities in the major media.

The TEA Party movement has staged 3 main groups of political gatherings, protest and Rallies on or about April 15, July 4 and July 17th. Though no large show of force in the form of riot police or the national guard were called up in anticipation of violence, the FBI did insert spies into the various TEA Party Movement Gatherings. [ FBI spied on TEA Party Americans! ] According to an FBI source, "There have been very significant changes made over the last few years that redirect the focus and assets of the intelligence community internally. These changes have greatly accelerated under this administration, and the threats have been redefined to include those who used to be patriots."

It is a source of suspicion when survellance of the TEA Party Movement merits a large allocation of FBI resources, but that same groups activities do not merit a comparable allocation of assets by the US Major media to provide Americans coverage of that same event.

US failed to detect Russian submarines that launched missiles

MOSCOW - The United States was unable to detect the presence of Russian strategic submarines in the Arctic before they test-launched two ballistic missiles, a Russian intelligence source said Wednesday.

Russia carried out test launches of two Sineva intercontinental ballistic missiles (IBMs) from two Delta IV class nuclear-powered submarines, located near the North Pole, July 13-14.

“The American radars certainly detected the missile launches but their location took them by surprise,” the source said.

The first missile, flying a ballistic path, hit its designated target at the Kura testing grounds on the Kamchatka Peninsula, while the second, fired with a flat trajectory, destroyed a target at the Chizha testing site on the White Sea.

The source said that the launch area, covered by floating ice sheets, was heavily patrolled by Russian attack submarines and the Americans were unable to detect the arrival of two strategic submarines before the launch.

“At the same time, US reconnaissance satellites are unable to detect submarines under thick ice floe in the Arctic,” he said.

The region around the North Pole is a perfect place for launches of ballistic missiles because it allows the submarines to arrive in a designated area undetected and to shorten the missile flight time to the target.

The RSM-54 Sineva (NATO designation SS-N-23 Skiff) is a third-generation liquid-propellant IBM that entered service with the Russian Navy in July 2007. It can carry four or 10 nuclear warheads, depending on the modification.

Russia plans to equip its Delta IV class submarines with at least 100 Sineva missiles.

SOCHI, July 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday that Russia had successfully test-launched a strategic missile from a submarine.

"The target was hit and the pieces of the missile landed in the designated area," the president said at a meeting with Navy personnel in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi.

The president said the test occurred on Monday, but did not specify the type of missile or the name of the submarine.

Last month Adm. Vladimir Vysotsky, the Russian Navy commander, said Russia would carry out the next test of a Bulava sea-launched ballistic missile in late July, one of a total of four or five launches this year.

Despite five failures in 10 trials, the last unsuccessful trial being in December 2008, Russia's Defense Ministry is planning to complete Bulava tests and put the ICBM into service by the end of 2009.

The Russian military says the Bulava, along with Topol-M ballistic missiles, will become the backbone of Russia's nuclear triad.

The triad comprises land-based ballistic missile systems, nuclear-powered submarines armed with sea-launched ballistic missiles, and strategic bombers carrying nuclear bombs and nuclear-capable cruise missiles.

Members of the Fed's board of governors are appointed by the president, yet during their 14-year terms the U.S. president and Congress have no power over them. Two Oklahoma veterans of the war in Iraq are suing Halliburton Co. and KBR Inc., saying the companies "callously exposed and continue to expose soldiers and others to toxic smoke, ash and fumes" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

David Green of Miami, Okla., and Nick Daniel Heisler of Lawton say in the lawsuit, filed in federal court in Tulsa, that they are seeking "redress for American soldiers and others deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan who were poisoned" by the companies.

The plaintiffs' attorneys are Armando Rosell of Oklahoma City and William O'Neil and Elizabeth Burke of Washington, D.C.

O'Neil said Friday that about 20 deaths have resulted from the defendants' actions.

He declined to estimate the number of people who have been sickened or injured, saying that total should become more clear during the discovery process.

A motion to certify the cases as a class-action lawsuit eventually will be filed, O'Neil said.

The filing of the Tulsa case late Thursday brought the total number of such lawsuits filed by the firm in the nation's federal courts to 21, O'Neil said.

The majority of the cases involve smoke-related injuries from burn pits.

O'Neil said motions have been made to transfer the cases to one federal court district — either in Maryland or Florida — for consolidated pretrial discovery. Still, he said, it is possible that the Tulsa lawsuit could eventually be sent back here for trial.

Heather Browne, KBR's director of communications, said in a statement Friday that "KBR is still reviewing the recently filed suits. It should be noted though that KBR did not operate the burn pit at Balad in Iraq, as has been previously asserted. It should also be noted that any burn pit operated in Iraq or Afghanistan is done pursuant to Army guidelines and regulations."

She added, "The general assertion that KBR knowingly harmed troops is unfounded as the safety and security of all KBR employees and those the company serves remains our top priority."

Diana Gabriel, Halliburton's senior manager of public relations, said Friday in a written statement that "as these lawsuits are based on KBR activity in Iraq and Afghanistan, we believe that Halliburton is improperly named in these cases and, as such, we expect Halliburton to be dismissed from the suits as Halliburton would have no responsibility, legal or otherwise, for the actions alleged."

Gabriel added, "Further, it would be inappropriate for Halliburton to comment on the merits of a matter affecting only the interest of KBR."

Halliburton and KBR were part of the same company for 44 years until they separated in April 2007, with Halliburton saying the split allowed it to focus on its profitable operations assisting oil and natural-gas producers.

The Tulsa lawsuit alleges that "the defendants were paid millions of dollars by the United States government to dispose of waste on bases and camps in Iraq and Afghanistan. Defendants promised to dispose of all waste in a method designed to minimize safety risks, to minimize the environmental effects of any burn site they operated and to minimize any type of smoke exposure to people" in and around the area.

The complaint says "the defendants utterly failed to fulfill any of the promises they made to the United States government. Defendants, more interested in money than safety, wholly ignored their obligations and burned vast quantities of unsorted waste in enormous open air burn pits with no safety controls."

The lawsuit says that "this misconduct began in 2004 and continues unabated to date," and it asks for actual and punitive damages for each plaintiff.

Dai Williams and Dr Chris Busby have written with great authority on this subject and have written to the then-British Prime Minster Tony Blair highlighting the many issues relating to the manufacturing and use of DU weapons. He also decided to look into what would happen if Israeli or any of its allies carried out such an attack on Iran's nuclear facility at Natanz.

He said,"If the current conflict escalates further I anticipate that Israeli and/or American forces will find an excuse to bomb nuclear facilities in Iran in the near future" "Whether Israeli or US forces use conventional (uranium cased) bunker busters or mini-nuclear warheads the effect of igniting uranium metal stockpiles in Iran (e.g. at Natanz) will spread radioactive contamination across the whole region within 2-3 days and around the world in 3-4 weeks."

The above simulation is within 48 hours of such an attack and one can clearly see that beyond this time the entire region will be contaminated. Could one even imagine that Israel would be prepared to do this and at the same time contaminate its own country?

Dai Williams in his communication to Tony Blair summarised the following:
Possibly your last chance to prevent widespread radiation contamination in the Middle East and Asia.

"I have tried to restrain my frustration at your support for US policies in Iraq and your apparent
apathy over Palestine for the last 3 years," he wrote. "But I can no longer stay silent.
However I also realise that you probably were not shown my previous correspondence and that you may still be unaware of the known development and suspected widespread use of large uranium weapons by US forces in the Balkans,Afghanistan and Iraq."

He continued:

"UK media coverage of these hazards has been very rare since 2000 when NATO was first
confronted about mysterious deaths of Spanish and Italian troops soon after service near
US bomb targets in the Balkans. An exception was the Sunday Times report of Uranium
contamination in the UK during March/April 2003 (19 Feb 2006 available at
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-2047373,00.html ) Now that Israeli forces are using the same guided weapons in Lebanon the public is seeing their horrific effects on civilians for the first time. In Afghanistan and Iraq there was little coverage of civilian casualties from the new generation of US guided weapons".

He concluded:

"Despite the impending summer recess you have one last chance to warn the Israeli and US
Governments that further aggression and use of uranium warhead guided weapons will no
longer be tolerated by the UK Government. These systems are increasing global radiation
Levels from their own contamination. This will be several times worse if they are used on
nuclear installations. So it is strategically and environmentally essential that you oppose
any military strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran."

I have decided to republish Dai Williams information for many good reasons.

1. That Gaza has now become a victim of Israel and is being used as an experimental testing ground for US and Israeli weapons that one can only imagine goes well beyond conventional weapons.
2. That the UN War Crimes team currently carrying out investigations in Gaza must understand that they should not be restricted by time constraints.
3. That they must carry out investigations across a broad range of issues from War Crimes to the many illegal weapons used in such a disproportionate way.

Finally to all the members of the Arab League I urge you to support the people of Palestine and to denounce any such actions being taken by Israel or its allies. As you will all see from the evidence above the entire Middle East would become a victim of such and attack. It is your duty of care towards all your people to insist that this illogical thinking is stopped.
