Tremendous sink hole treatening to swallow community in Virginia

The parks department closed off the hole with caution tape and a plastic mesh fence and had made plans to fill the hole in.

But two weeks later the ground around the hole in a one hundred foot radius began to sink.

Several witnesses were on hand as the ground collapsed opening up a very large crater that toppled trees.

“It was a frightening thing to watch.” Silvia Shelby told us. “we could see the ground begining to move downward slowly at first, then it just gave way and the ground opened up. Trees fell over and went down into the hole, rocks and boulders tumbled down. It was a terrifying spectical to watch.”

Four months later, the hole has grown to enormous proportions.

At nearly a half mile wide and with no indication of how deep it is, the hole continues to grow each day.

It has expanded to the nearby rivers and created huge water falls on its ridge which are emptying the water at a dramatic rate.

The draw of water into the hole has caused a huge surge in sea water to travel up the river and at high tide the sound of water crashing over the newly formed falls is deafening.

Residents who live a mere few yards of the hole have been evacuated, and all they can do is stand by and watch helplessly as their homes tumble into the hole within the next few days.

Three months after the hikers came across the hole, it grew to over five hundred yards across.

BREAKING POINT: TOP TRENDS 2010 - Gerald Celente

December 17, 2009

Kingston, NY -- The first decade of the 21st century is going out the way it came in … with a bust and a bang.

The Great Recession is not over. There is no recovery. It’s a cover up. Expect another wave of terrorism. Possibly of 9/11 magnitude.

As well as challenges, also expect profitable and transformational social, health, environmental, entertainment, cultural, business and consumer trends to emerge in 2010.

• The Crash of 2010: The Bailout Bubble is about to burst. Be prepared for the onset of the Greatest Depression.

• Depression Uplift: The pursuit of elegance and affordable sophistication will raise spirits … and profits.

• Terrorism 2010: Years of war in Afghanistan and Iraq – and now Pakistan – have intensified anti-American sentiment. 2010 will be the year of the lone-wolf, self-radicalized gunman.

• Neo-Survivalism: A new breed of survivalist is devising ingenious stratagems to beat the crumbling system. And, they’re not all heading for the hills with AK-47’s and pork & beans.

• Not Welcome Here: Fueled by fear and resentment, a global anti-immigration trend will gather force and serve as a major plank in building a new political party in the US.

• TB or Not TB: With two-thirds of Americans Too Big (TB) for their own good (and everyone else’s), 2010 will mark the outbreak of a “War on Fat,” providing a ton of business opportunities.

• Mothers of Invention: Taking off with the speed of the Internet revolution, “Technology for the Poor” will be a major trend in 2010, providing products and services for newly downscaled Western consumers and impoverished consumers everywhere.

• Not Made In China: A “Buy Local,” “My Country First” protectionist backlash will deliver a big “No” to unrestrained globalism and open solid niches for local and domestic manufacturers.

• The Next Big Thing: Just as the traditional print media (newspapers/magazines) were scooped by Internet competition, so too will new communication technologies herald the end of the TV networks as we know them.

The Trends Research Institute has a 30-year unparalleled track record of accurate forecasts. (Click here) Does your audience really want to listen to “experts” who tell them what they hope to hear, or listen to Gerald Celente who tells it straight and provides practical strategies?

2010: ‘The Year of Severe Economic Contraction’

December 18th, 2009

by Mike Whitney
LewRockwell.com

Upbeat reports in the financial media, belie the effects of the ongoing credit contraction. Massive injections of central bank liquidity have prevented the collapse of financial markets, but have done little to ease the deleveraging of households or stimulate activity the broader economy. The crisis has stripped $13 trillion in equity from working families who now find their access to credit either cut off or severely curtailed by the same banks that received hefty taxpayer-funded bailouts. The fiscal strangulation of the millions of people who are no longer considered “creditworthy” is progressively weakening demand and spreading pessimism across all income levels. Growing public desperation was the focus of a special weekend report by Bloomberg News:

EVERYONE DEFIES LAWS

December 18th, 2009

By Timothy N. Baldwin, JD.

NewsWithViews.com

In response to my one of my articles, “Hope for Financial Freedom,” I had a concerned American citizen correspond with me about the subject. He asked me a few questions which I feel are important enough to address publicly, because undoubtedly, there are many similar-thinking Americans who perhaps have not thought this fully through. Before I state the questions, let me explain why the questions were asked in the first place. As many American patriots are now advocating, the only viable way to resist federal tyranny is through the active sovereign powers of the States. This necessarily means, as I have explained for months, that the States must use the powers given to them by their sovereigns (the people)–and retained to them in the tenth amendment of the US Constitution–to pass laws which actively nullify, negate or refute unconstitutional federal laws and taxation within the sovereign borders of those States. Some people are looking at this scenario and asking what this gentleman asked me, as follows:

Are U.S. and China Together on Gold?

December 17th, 2009

With Time magazine’s momentous selection of Ben Bernanke as Person of the Year, there were reports of people dancing in the streets in, um, Oslo. Leave it to Time to figure out a way to make Henry Luce roll in his grave while outdoing rival Newsweek in the race to claim publishing’s trophy for irrelevancy. While the understandably isolated delirium over Bernanke’s selection subsides, we thought we’d update the prospectus on gold with a contribution from a Rick’s Picks subscriber who has requested anonymity. His thoughts run counter to the popular notion that investors can count on steady buying from China to lend buoyancy to bullion quotes. As the writer makes clear, China may have a mind of its own, and it will not always be perfectly aligned with the thinking of gold bulls. Here we go:

As a result, the world economy is being transformed into a new Dark Ages of superstition and thought-control – all in the name of Global Warming – or more recently – Climate Change.

THE THREE 13TH AMENDMENTS

December 17th, 2009

PART 1 of 2

By Jon Christian Ryter
December 17, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

There are two amendments which appear in the US Constitution that were fraudulently declared ratified by then Secretary of State Philander P. Knox and US Solicitor General Joshua Reuben Clark. They are the 16th and 17th Amendments to the US Constitution. The JP Morgan-Rockefeller-Rothschild international banking cartel (which actually encompasses about 100 of the wealthiest families in the world) swapped New Jersey Gov. Thomas Woodrow Wilson the White House for their own private central bank. In doing so, they perpetuated the fraud on the people of the United States. To make a central bank viable, the bankers needed to be able to levy the incomes of the people of the United States. To do that, they needed Congress to enact a federal income tax. There was only one problem with that. Assessing an unapportioned tax (that unfairly and punitively targets one citizen over another) was specifically prohibited by the Constitution. The bankers needed a constitutional amendment to correct Article 1 § 8. The bankers had one other problem with this plan. Every attempt to create a permanent central bank or, for that matter, a new temporary one, met fierce resistance from the States and from State banks. To get a constitutional resolution through Congress, it would first be necessary to remove the States from the equation of governance at the federal level. The 17th Amendment did that.

ONE WORLD CURRENCY ON THE HORIZON?

December 17th, 2009

By Betty Freauf
December 17, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Who said last February that it was OK with them to produce a new currency to replace the dollar? None other than serial tax evader, our U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and the guy that held his nose when the corporations to big to fail began receiving government bailouts, Federal Reserve chief, Ben Bernanke. In a speech to the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce on February 6, 2007 Bernanke warned that rising income inequality in the U.S. “has been evident for at least three decades, if not longer.” [1] Gee, I wonder what caused that? Could it be the Federal Reserve printing money out of thin air causing inflation and the income disparity? And why did the Obama administration fail to invite the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) and the Chambers to the “Jobs Summit” table held early in December? National Black Chamber of Commerce president, Harry Alford, a guest on Glenn Beck on 12/9 told how unions with big government jobs that pay prevailing wages (40% higher than non-government jobs) discriminate by ignoring minorities for these jobs but instead they bring in workers from 60-70 miles away.

United Nations will have their own gold bullion coins

Friday, December 18, 2009

The UN recently licensed their own gold bullion coins for minting. It has the UN logo on it as well.

The coins which will be made in Europe will then be distributed world wide. Armand Dufour from the European Banks says the introduction is welcomed. Could this be the new world currency? The global currency that was spoken about through the ages that will come when global governance will be there?

Yes, we think it is. Previous UN coins had no value, they were just collectables or memorabelia but this coin has value and it might just devalue the US dollar even further.

Please note, the picture in this post is not of the gold coin we are talking about.

Lincoln, Nebraska | Cosmic coincidence? Trooper reports fireball at same time as earthquake

December 17, 2009

If you happened to slip the word "missile" into your Web search for details about Wednesday's earthquake near Auburn, perhaps you came upon a tale of an intercepted Russian cruise missile, trained on Offutt Air Force Base, that exploded in the Nebraska sky at roughly the same time the ground began to shake.

Perhaps you noticed the 742-word story at www.whatdoesitmean.com quoted a Nebraska State Patrol trooper, Jerry Chab, who reportedly saw a fireball in the sky -- a fireball also seen from Oklahoma to Missouri -- at, coincidentally, the same time as the earthquake.

"Other reports from Nebraska further confirm Officer Chab's description of the downing of this nuclear armed cruise missile with the United States Geological Service," the whatdoesitmean.com story reads.

So, is the story a hoax? A sliver of insight into a diabolical cover-up? A little of this and a little of that?

This much is certain: Chab is a real Nebraska trooper, said spokeswoman Deb Collins.

He's also an amateur astronomer with a night job that takes him into the countryside, Collins said.

At about 9 p.m. Wednesday -- the earthquake was reported at 8:53 p.m., centered just north-northwest of Auburn -- he was in his cruiser west of Table Rock at the intersection of Nebraska Highways 4 and 50.

As windows rattled about 30 miles north-northeast of him, Chab saw a spectacle in the sky.

Chab e-mailed his observations to spaceweather.com, said Tony Phillips, the site operator.

"It flashed for approximately two seconds and was followed by sonic booms and ground shaking, which prompted many calls by the public to law enforcement in a three-county wide area," Chab was quoted as saying.

"If the earthquake is confirmed, as it appears to be, I think we have the most cosmic of coincidences: a large fireball around the same time of an earthquake," Chab told spaceweather. "I'm simply amazed."

Chab had the day off Thursday and declined interviews through Collins.

But he talked to Collins to set the record straight -- including the fact he never mentioned anything about a cruise missile. (Neither did spaceweather.com.)

But some Web sites don't particularly care. The quotes were referenced in the whatdoesitmean.com story about missiles and particle beams.

And just like that, the minor earthquake near Auburn became something of a far greater, or at least far stranger, magnitude.

InfoWars.com | Panic in Detroit: Unemployment Stands at 50%

December 17, 2009

AOL’s job site reports the following:

Nearly one out of two workers in Detroit are unemployed, according to a report by The Detroit News. It’s a figure far higher than the government’s official figure, which is still close to a staggering 30 percent.

But the newspaper says that rate doesn’t take everything into account. For every person who is still looking and collecting unemployment, there are scores of others who have had benefits run out, accepted a part-time position, taken early retirement or a job outside of their regular field ....

20 senators demand probe of health-care vote 'threat' - Did White House say it would close Air Force base if Nelson didn't play?

December 17, 2009

Twenty senators are demanding an investigation into reports the Obama administration threatened to close Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if that state's Democratic senator, Ben Nelson, didn't join other Democrats in voting for health-care reform.

The group of 20, all Republicans, today called for a hearing in a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich., and the committee's top Republican Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

The text of the letter states:

It has been reported that the Obama Administration threatened the closure of a U.S. military installation for political purposes, thereby bringing into question the integrity of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process. The BRAC process was established to remove political influence so that the decision to close or not to close a military installation could be based upon military utility.

Specifically, various media reports have stated that the Obama Administration would put Offutt AFB in southeastern Nebraska on a future BRAC list because of a vote on healthcare reform. While we recognize the importance of Offutt AFB as the headquarters of U.S. Strategic Command and the approximately 10,000 individuals that work there, we feel that this installation should remain open or be closed on its own merits.

Therefore, we respectfully ask that a hearing be held as to whether the BRAC process has been compromised. We do not want to see the name of a base from our state on a BRAC list and think it has been put there to settle partisan scores. We also do not want our bases to be more vulnerable to closure because political arm-twisting has taken another installation off the table. National security not partisanship should determine how BRAC decisions are made.

Weekly Standard columnist Michael Goldfarb was among those raising the issue in a post in which he said: "According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska's Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn't fall into line" on health-care reform.

Both the White House and Nelson are denying any such threat ever existed.

"This rumor is absolutely false, as the people spreading it well know," said Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. "This is nothing but a cynical, crass political game that is designed to maintain the status quo. Let's be clear: the people spreading these falsehoods think nothing is wrong with a system under which families and businesses continue to bear the brunt of skyrocketing costs, insurance companies are allowed to discriminate and drop at will, and thousands of Americans lose their coverage every single day."

Despite the denials, some WND readers have expressed outrage if a threat were indeed made.

"It is time for some spines on the Hill to impeach Obama and charge him with treason," said reader Tom Bender.

"This is simply amazing that we the people are permitting this type of politics in our country," noted another, Mike Kovach. "Not that this hasn't been done before, but this administration is on a course to destroy our nation. I am beginning to wonder why there has not been calls of subversion, treason and sedition against this administration. I'm am a Democrat and I would like to see all of those in cohorts with this administration put in jail and charged accordingly."

The Republicans signing the letter were Sens. John Ensign of Nevada, Jim DeMint of South Carolina, John Thune of South Dakota, Jim Bunning of Kentucky, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Kit Bond of Missouri, Michael Enzi of Wyoming, George LeMieux of Florida, Pat Roberts of Kansas, David Vitter of Louisiana, Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker of Mississipi, John Cornyn of Texas, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Mike Johanns of Nebraska, Bob Bennett of Utah, Johnny Isakson of Georgia and Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

BusinessInsider.com | China's Dumping Of The Dollar Has Begun

China, once a proud holder of United States post-World War II debt, is getting scared.

For years the People's Republic has bought U.S. Treasuries, eventually becoming the largest holder of U.S. debt ($799 BILLION to be exact!). Those days are long gone, though.

During 2009, China hasn't been buying many Treasuries and has been unloading dollars in a way that makes Geithner shiver at night.

And other big U.S. debt carriers like Japan may follow suit if confidence is lost.

This presentation, courtesy of RBS, takes a deeper look into China's holdings and associated volumes since 2005. Get ready for shock and awe.
