SOLAR HAM | SOLAR UPDATE - Topside Blast (Friday) - Lasco C2

Solar Update: The visible solar disk on Friday is nearly blank, with the exception of tiny Sunspots 1269 and 1270. There is currently no chance for strong solar flares on the earth facing side.

Farside Activity: In sharp contrast to the earth facing side of the sun, the farside is very active with sunspot regions and Coronal Mass Ejections. Today there is a CME blasting off the top side of the sun as seen in the still image below. Click HERE to watch the latest Lasco C2 movie. The STEREO Behind image shows 2 possible sunspot groups (1 per hemisphere) that will emerge on the eastern limb late next week.
