What is Biodiesel?

“Biodiesel is a renewable fuel for diesel engines derived from natural oils like soybean oil. But the term is also used to describe a blend of biodiesel with petroleum diesel.” The Energy Information Administration has an article titled “Some Biodiesel Basics” featured on their “This Week in Petroleum” page.

2009 Ozone Hole

Lee Allison reports that the number of geologists in the National Park Service Geologic Resources Division has decreased from 20 down to just 9 and parks that were founded on the basis of their geological features do not have a single geologist on their staff.

CoRoT-7b: First Rocky Planet Outside Our Solar System

CoRoT-7b is a tiny planet discovered by the CoRoT space telescope. It is the first rocky planet to be discovered outside of our solar system. Its orbit is less than 2 million miles out from its parent star and has a diameter about 80% larger than Earth’s.
