PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) | No ruling in tent city eviction hearing - Judge continues to hear testimony from both sides

16 Sep 2009, 1:30 AM EDT - There is still no ruling in the eviction hearing for homeless residents staying on city-owned land in Providence.

Ten homeless people are squatting at a site near Roger Williams Medical Center.

One of the campers testified, yesterday, that they all feel safer living in a tent city rather than at a shelter. But city officials have testified that they are trespassing.

The tent city residents moved to the Providence site after being evicted from a site in East Providence.
