Sunday, November 8, 2009

A TUNNEL has collapsed in Andorra on the Spanish-French border, killing three people.

Further bodies are expected to be found.

The three fatal victims of the collapse in Dos Valiras are Portuguese workmen.

A further six are seriously injured, one of whom had to be transferred to Barcelona hospital.

Emergency services say a tenth person is currently trapped under the wreckage, and another missing.

According to the head of the Andorran government, Jaime Bartumeu, and interior minister Víctor Naudí, the cause of the tunnel's crumbling down has not been revealed, although investigations are under way.
