Permits are usually required for well drilling. But, if the SHTF and the grid is down .... might be handy to have this knowledge and what is needed in a tidy little pile in the corner of the garage or basement ready to go. (And maybe a printed copy of this handy-dandy instruction). There was a time when most homesteads had their own well.
