Lincoln, Nebraska | Indigenous People's Day Rally - educating public about genocide of Native Americans and why Columbus Day should be abolished

Indigenous People's Day Event in Lincoln on Monday, October 12th, 2009 at 5:00 PM.

People will be gathering at the Lincoln Federal Building to protest the Federal holiday, Columbus day, and to observe Indigenous People's Day (also known as: Native American Survival Day, Indigenous People's Resistance Day, or Native People's Day).

This day is to honor indigenous peoples and their struggles. After the rally people will be marching to the State Capitol with signs and banners. This will be a peaceful demonstration for the purposes of standing in solidarity with indigenous peoples, educating the public about the atrocities committed by Christopher Columbus, the subsequent genocide of Native Americans and the reasons why the Government should abolish Columbus day.
