IslandCrisis.net | Alaska Cleveland Volcano Erupts

Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) says that satellite data indicates that the Cleveland volcano produced an ash cloud which reached a maximum altitude of 4.5 to 6.1 Km. There is currently a volcano alert level “Watch” in the region and an aviation color alert of Orange.
In a recent statement, Alaska Volcano Observatory said:
The lack of a real-time seismic network at Cleveland means that AVO is unable to track local earthquake activity related to volcanic unrest. Short-lived explosions with ash plumes that could exceed 20,000 ft above sea level can occur without warning and may go undetected on satellite imagery.
Above is a map showing the location of this volcano. It is on the western part of the Chuginadak Island which is an uninhabited island. The volcano is about 75 Km west of the community of Nikolski which has about 100 civilians.
