SolarHam.com | ALERT: Geomagnetic K-index of 5 - Threshold Reached: 2012 Jul 06 2241 UTC

On top of all the Solar Flare excitement, the K index is at or near the G1 Geomagnetic Storm threshold. For anybody new to following the solar events, this is unrelated to the large solar flare that just took place. A CME plasma cloud blasting away from the Sun will take normally 48-72 hours to reach Earth. Based on the location of Sunspot 1515, it is no longer in prime position for direct Earthbound explosions. More updates once more images are available.
