Are We in Haiti because of Oil? January 21, 2010 PrisonPlanet.com Once I observed the mass-murder posse of Team Obama, Bush and Clinton begin circling the wagons and the rapid US militarization of Port au Prince, including the occupation of the Presidential Palace, to the tune of now almost 10,000 US boots on the ground, I began to get suspicious. Call me crazy. I know of the sad history of Haiti imposed upon the tiny former slave nation by one imperial power after the next. But when I see 10,000 American soldiers descend upon a nation in less than a week, my radar flies into the red zone. |

HAVE YOU HEARD? When record-breaking winter weather hit the Midwest January 4-8, Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program staff from the Columbia, Mo. VA Medical Center hit the streets looking for homeless Veterans to direct to emergency shelters. They reached several Veterans and also connected with emergency shelters to help with supplies. The Salvation Army shelter in Columbia needed additional cots to expand “bed” capacity and got them from the VA medical center, along with coats, gloves, scarves, blankets and pillows. The week-long drive to gather supplies generated a tremendous response and all identified needs, including a 5XL coat for a homeless Veteran, were met. Local TV and newspapers covered VA’s leadership in helping the homeless. The effort collected 543 items including 63 coats, 90 pairs of socks, 40 pairs of gloves, 35 hats, 29 blankets, 12 pillows and 183 personal care items. 1. Early Call Issued For New GI Bill Submissions. In continuing coverage, the “Federal Eye” blog for the Washington Post (1/22, O’Keefe) reports, “The Department of Veterans Affairs has paid more than $1.3 billion in education benefits to more than 170,000 students eligible for the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill, the department said Wednesday. Officials released the figures as they issued an early call asking” for the submission of spring semester information before Feb. 10. Officials “said universities and students need to start thinking earlier about submitting enrollment information to the department in order to avoid the embarrassing backlogs that occurred last fall as the program began.” The Daily Texan (1/22, Geiser), the student newspaper for the University of Texas at Austin, notes that on Wednesday, the VA “asked University officials and students…for help with processing all spring semester Post-9/11 GI Bill claims for student veterans by February.” The Texan adds, “Tuition benefits from the GI Bill for veteran students whose applications were received before Jan. 19 will be paid by Feb. 1, according to a Jan. 14 letter to state directors” from VA Secretary Eric Shinseki. 2. VA Researchers Identify Biological Marker For PTSD. In continuing coverage, Medical News Today (1/22, Hanson) reports, “Researchers at the University of Minnesota” and the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center “have identified a biological marker in the brains of those exhibiting post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).” The study marks the “first time” PTSD has been objectively diagnosed “using magnetoencephalography (MEG), a non-invasive measurement of magnetic fields in the brain. It’s something conventional brain scans such as an X-ray, CT, or MRI have failed to do.” HealthDay (1/22, Gardner), Minnesota Public Radio (1/21, Crann), and CNET News‘ (1/22, Moore) “Health Tech” blog also cover this story. 3. Land, Funding Assurance Still Needed For Vets Nursing Home In Utah. The Deseret (UT) Morning News (1/22, Hardy) reports the Utah Department of Veterans Affairs has “announced it plans to build a 100-bed nursing home for aging, ill or disabled soldiers,” but more must be done “before the first shovel of dirt is turned for the Spanish Fork state facility.” Officials “must acquire 16 acres to build” the home, and the “Utah Legislature must assure Veterans Affairs that it has earmarked $6.2 million for construction — the state’s share. That would put the facility in a position to receive federal funding.” 4. Federal Funding Not Yet Available For New Alabama Vets Home. In continuing coverage, the St. Clair (AL) Times (1/22, Atchison) reports, “Officials with the Veterans Affairs Office in Montgomery said they are committed to the construction of the new veterans home, but federal funding for the project is not available this year.” While speaking to “members of the Pell City Rotary Club Tuesday,” Alabama Department Veterans Affairs Commissioner Clyde Marsh, “said the VA Office is hoping federal funds will become available in 2011.” The Talladega (AL) Home (1/22) ran the same story. 5. Despite Opposition, Wisconsin VA Board Appointments Move Along. The AP (1/22) reports Joe Leibham and Ted Kanavas, both “Republican state senators,” are “opposing the appointments of two Wisconsin Veterans Affairs Board members because of their role in firing” John Scocos, the former Wisconsin VA secretary. However, the “committee that oversees veterans’ issues voted 3-2 to confirm” both appointments, sending the “nominations to the full Senate.” 6. Vet Sentenced To Prison For Assault. The Eastern Arizona Courier (1/22, Johnson, 6K) reports 58-year-old veteran Michael Dennis Riley “was sentenced Jan. 11 to six years in prison” for assault. After noting that Riley “voluntarily checked himself” into the Veterans Affairs hospital in Tucson following the assault, the Courier says Riley “allegedly suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder but was deemed mentally competent to stand trial.” 7. Hospital To Again Appeal VA Clinic Decision. In continuing coverage, the WWNY-TV Watertown, NY (1/21, Rusho) website noted that since Carthage Area Hospital (CAH) “learned it lost its bid to retain” a Veterans Affairs clinic to Valor Healthcare,” CAH officials “have continually asked why they lost out to a larger operation” if their bid was lower. WWNY noted that CAH “will make a second appeal to Valor winning the bid and moving the facility to Watertown by filing paperwork with the government’s accountability office. A decision is expected in the next couple of weeks.” 8. Data From VA, Other Cabinet-Level Departments Headed To Internet. The AP (1/22) reports, “The Obama administration on Friday is posting to the Internet a wealth of government data from all Cabinet-level departments,” including Veterans Affairs. Under a “Dec. 8 White House directive, each department must post online at least three collections of ‘high-value’ government data that never have been previously disclosed.” 9. New Cemetery Provides Vets, Families With Alternative Resting Place. In continuing coverage, the Allentown (PA) Morning Call (1/22, Portnoy, 104K) reports, “Washington Crossing National Cemetery began interring cremated remains on Wednesday — with private services being held for seven veterans and one spouse, according” to US Department of Veterans Affairs spokeswoman Josephine Schuda. The Morning Call goes on to explain that while there is a national cemetery in Lebanon County, the opening of one in “lower Bucks County gives area veterans and their families a second, and in many cases, closer-to-home choice of a final resting place.” 10. Book Offers Benefit Application Guide To Veterans. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (1/21, Barnes, 223K) reports Joseph Scott McCarthy, who “teaches a continuing education class that explains veterans benefits to social workers at the University of Pittsburgh,” has “written a book” called “‘Checks for Vets,’” which offers “an easy-to-understand guidebook format” on benefit application for veterans. |

THE TRUTH ABOUT ABORTION
By Chuck Baldwin
January 22, 2010
NewsWithViews.comToday marks the 37th anniversary of the infamous US Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision, which, in effect, legalized abortion-on-demand nationwide. The aftermath of this tragic ruling is the deaths of over 40 million (a very conservative number) innocent unborn babies. It is no hyperbole to say abortion is America’s holocaust. Think of it, every American citizen today, 37 years old or younger, has never known a country that respected and protected innocent human life in the womb. Put it another way: when Hitler’s Third Reich was at its zenith, the abortion rate was 40%. In 2003 (the last year that I checked), the abortion rate of the county in which I live was 39%. And I live in the heart of the so-called “Bible Belt.” In fact, statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be in America is not in an automobile without wearing a seat belt, or in a commercial airliner with a potential terrorist on board. Statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be is in the womb of one’s mother.

TV Networks Give Americans A “Sanitized Version of War”
January 21, 2010
U.S. television networks have given the public a sanitized, largely bloodless view of the war in Iraq, an academic authority on communications writes.
"The contrast between what Americans saw on the news and what European and pan-Arab audiences saw is striking. Foreign news bureaus showed far more blood and gore than American stations showed. The foreign media were delivering audiences the true face of the war," writes Michelle Pulaski, an assistant professor at Pace University, New York.

US Congress for Sale: Foreign Bids Welcome
Imagine a Goldman Sachs or Citigroup sponsored smear campaign against Ron Paul.
It could even be paid for with bailout money!
The US Supreme Court has just ruled that in the interest of freedom of speech, corporations ought to be allowed to make unlimited donations to political campaigns.
The Court also ruled that corporations should not be prohibited from directly sponsoring political advertisements.
The implications of this ruling effectively ends what integrity might have remained in the electoral process. Despite our high-minded ideals about the process, elections are decided on television. The candidate who spends the most on advertisements is usually the candidate who wins. With this ruling, corporations can now easily buy members of Congress.
SCOTUS ruling = Powell Memo goal = Fall of democracy...
In short, the Powell Memo outlined an attack on our nation by corporations which championed fascism over democracy. You can read the whole memo at the above link.
SCOTUS has now ruled that corporations can actively alter elections via funding, undermining the very nature of the democratic process. Corporations have moved closer to a formal merger with government. This is called fascism by definition.
Iceland to hold referendum on international debt repayments
Late last year, the Icelandic parliament narrowly passed the so-called IceSave bill, which would provide a state guarantee to meet the onerous terms of the agreement, which is designed to repay London and The Hague for compensating hundreds of thousands of British and Dutch citizens who lost savings during the collapse of Iceland’s national bank, Landsbanki.
On January 5 President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson refused to sign the bill into law, triggering a constitutional mandate that the bill be subjected to a national referendum. In the event the electorate votes down the bill, which looks likely according to the latest polls, the legislation will not come into effect.

Obama authorizes covert economic war against VenezuelaWayne Madsen Online Journal Thursday, January 21st, 2010 WMR’s intelligence sources have reported that the Obama administration has authorized an economic war against Venezuela in order to destabilize the government of President Hugo Chavez. After a successful coup against Chavez ally, President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras, and the very thin 51-49 percent electoral win by Chile’s billionaire right-winger Sebastian Pinera on January 17, a buoyed Obama White House has given a green light for political operatives in Venezuela, many of whom operate under the cover of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to set the stage for massive street demonstrations to protest Chavez’s devaluation of the bolivar, Venezuela’s currency. Chavez devalued the bolivar by 50 percent to make Venezuelan oil exports less expensive, thus boosting revenue for his country. However, the devaluation has also seen price rises and inflation in Venezuela and the CIA and its subservient NGOs have wasted little time in putting out stories about consumers rushing to the stories ahead of an increase in consumer products, with imported flat-screen televisions being the favorite consumer item being hyped by the corporate media as seeing a huge price increase and long lines at shopping malls favored by the Venezuelan elites. GAZA PRISON CAMP NEWS
Aid workers ‘being pushed out’ of Palestinian areas
Israel has stopped issuing work permits to foreign aid workers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, sparking fears about the future of relief operations in the Palestinian territories.
The Israeli Interior Ministry has issued only tourist visas to aid groups such as Oxfam, Médecins sans Frontières and Save the Children since before Christmas. They say that their legal situation is now precarious and that some staff have been denied entry by Israeli border officials who also control all entry to the West Bank.
The move came amid pressure from right-wing Israeli groups to crack down on non-governmental organisations, which are often seen as having a political, anti-Israeli bias. Early last year an Israeli group, NGO monitor, forced the New York-based Human Rights Watch to suspend a weapons specialist who had written a scathing report on Israel’s use of white phosphorus during its Gaza offensive. The group tracked down anonymous comments that the researcher had made on online discussions for collectors of Nazi memorabilia.
Some left-wing Israeli groups have accused Israel of "declaring war" on foreign groups such as Human Rights Watch and Oxfam, which have been critical of Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
Aid groups are now worried that the decision by the Interior Ministry could inhibit their work to provide medical support, welfare and basic supplies to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. READ MORE
SPY CHIP NEWS Ex-IBM Employee reveals TV Abandoned Analog Band to Make Room for RFID January 21, 2010 According to a former 31-year IBM employee, the highly-publicized, mandatory switch from analog to digital television is mainly being done to free up analog frequencies and make room for scanners used to read implantable RFID microchips and track people and products throughout the world. So while the American people, especially those in Texas and other busy border states, have been inundated lately with news reports advising them to hurry and get their expensive passports, “enhanced driver’s licenses,” passport cards and other “chipped” or otherwise trackable identification devices that they are being forced to own, this digital television/RFID connection has been hidden, according to Patrick Redmond. Redmond, a Canadian, held a variety of jobs at IBM before retiring, including working in the company’s Toronto lab from 1992 to 2007, then in sales support. He has given talks, written a book and produced a DVD on the aggressive, growing use of passive, semi-passive and active RFID chips (Radio Frequency Identification Devices) implanted in new clothing, in items such as Gillette Fusion blades, and in countless other products that become one’s personal belongings. These RFID chips, many of which are as small, or smaller, than the tip of a sharp pencil, also are embedded in all new U.S. passports, some medical cards, a growing number of credit and debit cards and so on. More than two billion of them were sold in 2007. Whether active, semi-passive or passive, these “transponder chips,” as they’re sometimes called, can be accessed or activated with “readers” that can pick up the unique signal given off by each chip and glean information from it on the identity and whereabouts of the product or person, depending on design and circumstances, as Redmond explained in a little-publicized lecture in Canada last year. AFP just obtained a DVD of his talk. READ MORE |

Girl, 19, left battling blindness after taking Tamiflu (and she didn't even have swine flu)
A teenage girl left disabled by the swine flu treatment Tamiflu did not even have the virus, it was revealed today.
Samantha Millard, 19, became critically ill after suffering a severe allergic reaction to the tablets, which she took on the advice of the controversial NHS helpline.
Within 72 hours of taking three pills, doctors put her on life support.
Samantha spent a month in hospital after developing the life-threatening Stevens Johnson syndrome, which causes the skin to peel off, and later developed toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome, which has damaged her sight.
U.S. health authorities have made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups for getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, but is it actually safe for pregnant women and their babies? Well, the truth is that miscarriage reports from pregnant women who have taken the H1N1 swine flu vaccine are starting to pour in from all over the nation. Vaccines and pregnancy simply do not mix safely. In fact, the package inserts for the swine flu vaccines actually say that the safety of these vaccines for pregnant women has not been established.
Fears grow as study shows genetically modified crops 'can cause liver and kidney damage' DailyMail.co.uk January 21, 2010 Fresh fears were raised over GM crops yesterday after a study showed they can cause liver and kidney damage. According to the research, animals fed on three strains of genetically modified maize created by the U.S. biotech firm Monsanto suffered signs of organ damage after just three months. The findings only came to light after Monsanto was forced to publish its raw data on safety tests by anti-GM campaigners. They add to the evidence that GM crops may damage health as well as be harmful to the environment. The figures released by Monsanto were examined by French researcher Dr Gilles-Eric Seralini, from the University of Caen. READ MORE |
U.S. newborns are weighing less, study finds
Jan 22 2010 - Birth weights in the United States are on the decline, a study has found. The report, released Thursday, found a small but significant decrease in average birth weights from 1990 to 2005, for reasons that scientists say are unclear.
The numbers, published in the February issue of the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, mark a shift from earlier reports that noted a rise in birth weights in the latter part of the 20th century.
They also seem to go against conventional wisdom, experts said. In recent years, women have gotten larger, are smoking less and are older when they have children, all factors that contribute to higher birth weight in offspring.
Poor in suburbs up 47%
That's according to a new Brookings Institution report that showed a 15.4 percent jump in the nation's poor as 5.2 million more people were added to the poverty rolls in a decade hit by two recessions.
The number of poor people in the suburbs of the country's largest metropolitan areas grew 25 percent, almost five times faster than in primary cities, the report found.

Squirming of the Fed -- The Fed's irresponsible money printing led to the great stock market crash of 1929. The Fed, we have been informed by reliable sources, printed far more money in the 1920s than it was legally entitled to print. Defense Secretary Cohen's 1997 Warning about Scalar EM Geotechnical Terrorism
“Others [terrorists] are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves… So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations…It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our [counterterrorism] efforts."
Secretary of Defense William Cohen at an April 1997 counterterrorism conference sponsored by former Senator Sam Nunn. Quoted from DoD News Briefing, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, Q&A at the Conference on Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and U.S. Strategy, University of Georgia, Athens,

CLIMATEGATE - Scientists using selective temperature data, skeptics say January 21, 2010 Canada.com Two months after “climategate” cast doubt on some of the science behind global warming, new questions are being raised about the reliability of a key temperature database, used by the United Nations and climate change scientists as proof of recent planetary warming. Two American researchers allege that U.S. government scientists have skewed global temperature trends by ignoring readings from thousands of local weather stations around the world, particularly those in colder altitudes and more northerly latitudes, such as Canada. Global warming is dead. What’s the next eco-scare? MensNewsDaily As man-made global warming fears enter the ashbin of history, what will environmentalists, UN activists and politicians do to fill the void of a failed eco-scare? Well, wonder no more…. Some forward thinking green activists and even the UN climate Chief have already taken up the task of test-marketing the next eco-scares to replace man-made global warming. One of the most prominent eco-scares now being quietly promoted behind man-made climate fears is the allegedly “growing” nitrous oxide (a.k.a. “laughing gas”) threat to the planet. Webmaster's Commentary: Before you all get your knickers in a twist over this new "deadly" gas, nitrous oxide is the harmless propellant used in canned whip cream products. “It’s outrageous that economic stimulus money is being used to support research conducted by Michael Mann at the very time he’s under investigation by Penn State and is one of the key figures in the international Climategate scandal. Penn State should immediately return these funds to the U.S. Treasury,” said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project. Professor Mann is currently under investigation by Penn State University because of activities related to a closed circle of climate scientists who appear to have been engaged in agenda-driven science. Emails and documents mysteriously released from the previously-prestigious Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom revealed discussions of manipulation and destruction of research data, as well as efforts to interfere with the peer review process to stifle opposing views. The motivation underlying these efforts appears to be a coordinated strategy to support the belief that mankind’s activities are causing global warming. | ||

Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) UFO Database Memory of Phil Schneider - Survivor of 1979 Fire Fight in Dulce, New Mexico "Sixty-six secret service agents, FBI, Black Berets and the like, died in that fire fight. I was there." Brought to you by Burlington UFO and Paranormal Research Phil Schneider, one of three people to survive the 1979 fire fight between the large Greys , US intelligence and military at the Dulce underground base.was found dead January 1996, due to what appears to be an execution style murder. He was found dead in his apartment with a piano wire wrapped around his neck. According to sources, it appeared that he repeatedly suffered torture before he was finally killed. Seven months prior to his death , Schneider did a lecture on the forces he had discovered at Dulce. This brave man's final acts should not go unnoticed. Below is a synopsis of Phil Schneider. Thank You. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "It is because of the horrendous structure of the Federal Government that I feel directly imperilled not to tell anybody about this material. However I would like to mention that this talk is going to be broken up into four main topics. Each of these topics will have some bearing on what you people are involved in, whether you are patriots or not." "I want you to know that these United States are a beautiful place. I have gone to more than 70 countries and cannot remember any country that has the beauty, as well as the magnificence of it's people, like these United States." "To give you an overview of basically what I am, I started off and went through engineering school. Half of my schooling was in that field and I built up a reputation for being a geological engineer, as well as a structural engineer with both military and aerospace applications. I have helped build two main bases in the United States that have some significance as far as what is called the New World Order. The first base is the one at Dulce, New Mexico. I was involved in 1979 in a fire fight with alien humanoids and I was one of the survivors. I'm probably the only talking survivor you will ever hear. Two other survivors are under close guard. I am the only one left that knows the detailed files of the entire operation. Sixty- six secret service agents, FBI, Black Berets and the like, died in that fire fight. I was there." "Number one, part of what I am going to tell you is going to be very shocking. Part of what I am going to tell you is probably going to be very unbelievable, though, instead of putting your glasses on, I'm going to ask you to put your ‘scepticals' on. But please, feel free to do your own homework. I know the Freedom of Information Act isn't much to go on, but it's the best we've got. The local law library is a good place to look for Congressional Records. So, if one continues to do their homework, then one can be standing vigilant in regard to their country." Deep Underground Military Bases "I love the country I am living in more than I love my life, but I would not be standing before you now, risking my life, if I did not believe it so. The first part of this talk is going to concern deep underground military basses and the black budget. The Black Budget is a secretive budget that garners 25% of the gross national product of the United States. The Black Budget currently consumes $1,25 trillion per year. At least this amount is used in black programmes, like those concerned with deep underground military bases. Presently, there are 129 deep underground military bases in the United States." "They have been building these 129 bases day and night, unceasingly, since the early 1940's. Some of them were built even earlier than that. These bases are basically large cities underground connected by high-speed magneto-leviton trains that have speeds up to Mach 2. Several books have been written about this activity. Al Bielek has my only copy of one of them.
